A Good Day for Chardonnay Summary
If you haven’t read book one, you may not know that Sunshine Vicram is the (somewhat dubiously) elected sheriff of a small town in New Mexico.Â
In addition to the eclectic residents and her rag-tag but solid police force, she also has her parents, her precocious teenager, and her lingering crush/potential baby-daddy keeping her on her toes day in and day out.Â
Throw in a few heartbreaking cases, and you have Sunshine’s life in a nutshell. Yet, through it all, she lives up to her name and delivers her lines with a smile—and maybe a glass of wine or two.
Mystery and Romance with Sass
A Good Day Chardonnay is simply a joy to read. It has twists and turns, it has heart and humor, it has sarcasm and sass galore, and it is all told in a voice that only Darynda Jones can write. If you have read her Charley Davidson series, then you know what I mean.
I love the world Jones has created in this series, and I can’t wait to return.
Although I’m usually good with cliffhanger endings, I need to know the answers to all of the mysteries, and I need them as soon as possible! Â

All Sunshine really wants is one easygoing day. You know, the kind that starts with coffee and a donut (or three) and ends with takeout pizza and a glass of chardonnay (or seven). Turns out, that’s about as easy as switching to decaf. (What kind of people do that? And who hurt them?)Â
Before she can say iced mocha latte, Sunny’s got a bar fight gone bad, a teenage daughter hunting a serial killer and, oh yes, the still unresolved mystery of her own abduction years prior. All evidence points to a local distiller, a dangerous bad boy named Levi Ravinder, but Sun knows he’s not the villain of her story. Still, perhaps beneath it all, he possesses the keys to her disappearance. At the very least, beneath it all, he possesses a serious set of abs. She’s seen it. Once. Accidentally.Â
Between policing a town her hunky chief deputy calls four cents short of a nickel, that pesky crush she has on Levi that seems to grow exponentially every day, and an irascible raccoon that just doesn’t know when to quit, Sunny’s life is about to rocket to a whole new level of crazy.Â
Yep, definitely a good day for chardonnay.
