The ride of her life . . .
Once upon a time, Carissa Teodoro believed in happy endings. Money, marriage, motherhood: everything came easy---until she woke up to the ugly truth about her Prince Charming. Now a struggling, single mom and stranded by a flat tire, Carissa's pondering her mistakes when a vaguely familiar knight rides to her rescue on a ton of horsepower.
Climb on and hold tight . . .
In high school, Carson Steele was a bad boy loner who put Carissa on a pedestal where she stayed far beyond his reach. Today, he's the hard-bodied biker known only as Joker, and from the way Carissa's acting, it's clear she's falling fast. While catching her is irresistible, knowing what to do with her is a different story. A good girl like Carissa is the least likely fit with the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Too bad holding back is so damned hard. Now, as Joker's secrets are revealed and an outside threat endangers the club, Joker must decide whether to ride steady with Carissa---or ride away forever . . .

Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley was one of my most anticipated reads of 2015. I loved Tack’s story. I adored Tabby’s book. This one, though, kicked me right in the feels…and I loved every word of it. Out of all of the books in the Chaos series, this one is my favorite. Every aspect is fantastic–from the characters to the story to the dialogue. My love for this series has grown exponentially with each new release. Kristen Ashley is like a Jedi Master of romance. Seriously, pick up one of her books and you will need to use The Force to put it down.
Ok, enough fangirling over KA and back to the book. In case you haven’t realized, I thought this book was amaze-balls. It has bikers…and beards…and babies. If that isn’t a triple karate-chop to the ovaries, I don’t know what is.
The first chapter alone had me falling in love with Carson Steele (aka Joker). I wanted to take him home and bake him cookies.
During high school, Carson is a social outcast, abused by his sorry excuse for a father, and biding his time to get out of town. He watches Carissa from afar, and he knows she is different from all of the other popular girls she hangs out with. When things get worse at home, Carson leaves town. Meanwhile, Carissa marries her jerk of a boyfriend and has a baby. When their paths collide again, Carson has become Joker, a member of the Chaos motorcycle club, and Carissa is divorced with a baby. Her ex is doing everything in his power to make her life miserable, and all Carissa wants is to make the best life she can for her son.
Seeing Joker and Carissa come together and heal each other’s wounds was brilliant. They are both strong and protective and honest. There is a ‘realness’ to their relationship that I truly enjoyed. I also loved Joker’s affection for Travis, Carissa’s son. Everything about their interactions was fantastic. Joker is a big, burly biker with a heart of gold.
Joker and Carissa are both looking for family and security. Both had traumatic childhoods and couldn’t wait to make their own way in the world. What they end up finding is both beautiful and amazing. They surround themselves with a chosen family that would take a bullet for them, which is something they both needed.
There are several memorable cameos by other KA characters that longtime readers will enjoy. And of course, Tack is Tack. He just seems to get more awesome with each book! (If you don’t know who Tack is, be sure to read Motorcycle Man. You won’t be disappointed!)
I can’t recommend this book enough. Did I mention bikers and babies? What more do you need?
