Greed & Jealousy

Review of Greed & Jealousy

Greed and jealousy are powerful motivators, but they are not the only thing driving this book–there’s also a mystery, suspense, and of course, romance.

Tina Ellery gives us characters to care about, a Sleeping with the Enemy-style story, and a mystery that had me guessing until the end.

As a fan of romantic suspense, all of those elements are important to me and my reading experience, so I enjoyed Greed & Jealousy.

Greed & Jealousy Summary

Tova is a strong, independent heroine who doesn’t depend on anyone to get things done.  She has a thriving business, great neighbors and friends, and a husband who is never around.

While her marriage is in shambles, Tova remains steadfast in her resolve to make things work.  Until she meets a handsome stranger at the DMV who makes her remember what it feels like to be flirted with, anyway.

Neil is a private investigator with a bit of a God complex when it comes to saving women in trouble.  When he meets Tova, he realizes that she doesn’t need to be saved, but he can’t shake the connection they make.

After spending more time together, his attraction is a major inconvenience since Tova is still technically married, no matter how unhappily.  What he doesn’t realize is that their budding friendship is facing more trouble than just a failing marriage.

Romantic Suspense Roller-Coaster

Greed & Jealousy is a roller-coaster of twists and turns.  I enjoyed watching Tova and Neil’s friendship bud into something more.   They are both so headstrong and stubborn, but they are also loyal and protective of those they care about.

With everything that is going on with Tova’s soon-to-be-ex-husband and his misdeeds, their relationship builds slowly, which I appreciated.

Tova’s family history is also discussed, so her thoughts and feelings are easy to understand.  Her life isn’t easy, but she’s a fighter and Neil is a great partner for Tova.

I also enjoyed the epilogue, which sets up the next book, so I am curious to see what will happen next in this series.

If you like romantic suspense, be sure to give Greed and Jealousy a try.  I think you will like what you read!

Thank you for the advanced copy of GREED & JEALOUSY by Tina Ellery.  All opinions are my own.

The grass is greener on the other side…

Tova Hudson is getting by—just barely. With a crumbling marriage, all she longs for is her husband to make an effort—one small, simple gesture. When she meets Neil Hamilton, a strong, demanding, private investigator, she’s appalled at the pull she has for him.  After all, she’s a married woman—even though it’s far from the fairytale she always dreamed of. Luckily, Neil has no interest in a woman who belongs to someone else.

But when peril sets in and Tova’s life is jeopardized, her husband’s absence endangers her even more. This time, greed and envy just might be the deadliest sins of all. It’s up to Neil to protect the one woman he can’t have—or shouldn’t have. But somebody won’t stop until Tova is silenced. Can Neil find a way to save Tova while protecting his heart too?
