The Varlet and the Voyeur

I love the writing duo of Reid and Cosway and the entire Rugby series has been amazing… until now.

It actually pains me terribly to say this, but the fourth and final book of the series was my least favorite of the bunch.

The Varlet and the Voyeur Summary

Let me start with the positive: I loved Josey as the heroine of this story. She’s a hot mess express, socially awkward, and verbally filterless. You never know what she’s going to do or say next, and it’s hilarious to watch.

If you’ve read the previous three books, you know that Will is the quiet loner teammate of the rugby team and no one really knows much about him.

I have to be honest and say that even after reading the book, I don’t feel like I ever connected with him throughout the story.

I had a hard time settling into the story and I couldn’t figure out why. I enjoyed the writing and the characters (especially Josey), but the over the top exploits made it hard to love the story.

Will’s “crime” didn’t seem to fit the punishment and the whole premise of Will needing a nanny seemed thin at best.

Rugby Romance with Lovable Characters

Getting to see all of the past heroes with the women in their lives was the best part of The Varlet and the Voyeur. 

The big, burly men being tamed by their lovely significant others reminded me of why I enjoyed this series and kept me from being too sad about how this book played out.

I hope these ladies will co-write again because I think they are fabulous together!
