Review of Dear Life

You might know Meghan Quinn for her hilarious (and yes, sometimes wacky) humor.  She does the romantic comedy really well, but she also nails the serious and heartbreaking, too.

While there are still elements of humor in Dear Life, the intensity of the situations and the emotions really shine through, leaving you thinking about this story long after it is finished.

Dear Life Summary

Dear Life, the book, is a heartfelt and realistic look at four lives who have been changed or shaped by events beyond their control.

Dear Life, the program, is about facing your fears and letting go of your grief to become the person you’re meant to be.

Dear Life, the story, focuses on four members of the program and the reasons they attend the meetings.  Some have suffered losses; others are just lost.

Through the program, they are able to interact with others who are stuck or overwhelmed, are given the tools to move forward, as well as write letters to themselves about their experiences.

Realistic Romance with Lots of Heart!

I loved everything about this story!  From the characters and their histories to their progression through the program and their interactions, everything about it was amazing.

The story flows brilliantly and I loved how it is layered and woven together.  There is an underlying strength in each of the people this story follows.

In truth, life may have knocked them down, but each of them is standing in their own way of getting back up.  The strength lies in facing their problems head-on and finally making progress.

And that, right there, is what makes this book marvelous in my eyes.

While I am sad that Meghan had to go through a trying ordeal and heartbreak to be inspired to write this book, I am so happy that she came through her dark time and wrote this incredible story.

Dear Life is a unique look at life’s troubles and the loving relationships that can come from taking a risk and putting yourself out there.  It is refreshing to read something ‘different’ within the romance genre, where things can tend to become repetitive.

I highly, highly recommend reading this–especially if you are craving something different, too.

Thank you for the advanced copy of DEAR LIFE by Meghan Quinn.  All opinions are my own.
